Possessing a strong work ethic and the tenacity to get the job done, Pelton Stewart has accumulated a lengthy resume of accomplishments during his more than 30 years in the nonprofit sector. Experienced in managing and supervising nonprofit operations, he has also consulted on organizational development and provided cultural-awareness training and assistance in program, resource, and board development to organizations and businesses. Today, Pelton Stewart shares his talents and experience as Vice President of The Johnson Company, a management-consulting firm focusing on real estate financing and project management. In this role, he manages the administrative functions of the business.
Pelton Stewart began his career as Regional Services Director of the Pacific Service Center of the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, where he provided support services in three states to 36 member corporations. He served as Executive Director of Continentals of Omega Boys & Girls Club in Vallejo, California, for a total of 16 years. Mr. Stewart left the organization for two years to act as Executive Director of the “I Have a Dream” Foundation in Vallejo. In the latter capacity, he managed support systems and held responsibility for distributing scholarships.
Pelton Stewart exhibited his leadership skills early, when he became Student Body President in high school. He completed his undergraduate studies at Howard University and the University of San Francisco. The President of the Vallejo Sister City Association, he sits on the board of the Vallejo Sister City Commission and the California Alliance of African American Educators. Pelton Stewart holds memberships in the Theta Pi chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the Vallejo branch of the NAACP. When not engaged in professional duties, he enjoys mentoring young professionals and volunteering. He plays softball as well.
